Program Information

Format:

 

 

A.      Selection Of Teams

 

 

·         U9 and U10 teams will be selected to provide equal distribution of talent amongst all the teams created. The number of teams created will be based upon the number of capable players who are interested.

 

 

·         U11-U14 teams will be arranged according to ability. Player development will be enhanced when placed with others who share similar desires and abilities.

 

 

B.      League/Tournaments

 

 

·         Teams will compete in the Mid Ohio Select Soccer League (MOSSL).

 

 

·         Teams will compete in two tournaments per season for a total of four per carded year. The MOSSL league tournament each season and two other tournaments chosen by the Director. In most instances the Second tier teams will travel to the same tournaments as a group to help with club camaraderie and with the Directors ability to see the teams.

 

 

·         Guest playing opportunities with other Second Tier or First Tier teams either in MOSSL League games or Tournaments on occasion will be made available to players for a variety of reasons. The Director will communicate with each player’s parents if there is a possibility of other playing options.

 

 

C.      Cost*

 

 

·         $575 per carded year. The carded year is from August 1st through July 31st.

 

 

·         Includes:

 

 

o        Tournaments

 

 

o        Administrative Fees, carding, referees, fields, League, coach education, etc.

 

 

o        Training Fees

 

 

o        Website for centralized information dissemination

D.      Fee Payment Schedule

 

 

·         $500 deposit this payment is non refundable and ensures the players spot on the team.

 

 

·         $75 due 2/1

·         Failure to make the fee schedule will result in suspension of player from all team activities until payment is made in full.

 

 

E.      Commitment

 

 

·         Selection into the Second Tier Program in general means the player and players family assumes the responsibilities of fulfilling a yearlong commitment (8/1-7/31). If a player fails to meet this commitment it jeopardizes the structure of the team and the remaining players commitments. It also prevented the opportunity for another player to be placed on this team during the selection process.

 

 

·         In general training begins in mid August and Mid March each season of outdoor play. Training will for the most part include two one and one half hour sessions per week.

 

 

·         Games are generally scheduled to provide one or two games per week. League games are held throughout Central Ohio with Home fields at either Darree Park or Avery Park in Dublin. The Director will attend games throughout the carded year in order to assist the coach and the development of the players and team.

 

 

·         The Director would assume to have the teams out on the field approximately four times per week.

 

 

·         Indoor is highly encouraged and will be a team/individual choice. See Indoor for more information below.

 

 

·         Parent Meeting to be held in June/July to discuss the program and upcoming year is mandatory each year for one parent.

 

 

F.      Coaching/Training

 

 

·         Ohio Premier will select the Director of the Second Tier Program. This Director will provide age appropriate training curriculum to be used by the qualified parent coaches. The Director and the OP Staff will conduct 10-14 training sessions per carded year with the direct involvement of the Parent coaches.

 

 

·         The Second Tier Director will select parent Coaches based upon a variety of requirements. The league requires coaches to be licensed through the USSF, NSCAA, or previous playing experience. Coaches will be required to attend Director led meetings and clinics throughout the course of the year.

 

 

·         Coaches will be evaluated on a yearly basis in order to continue coaching in the club.

 

 

·         Parent Coaches will sign a Code of Conduct form provided by Ohio Premier.

 

 

·         Each coach will be carded through USYSA, which requires a background check on all its members.

 

 

G.     Indoor

 

 

·         The Director will encourage all players and teams to participate in indoor programming.

 

 

·         Fees for indoor participation are not included in the primary fees paid to OP.

 

 

·         Training fees and Indoor Field rental will be determined by the Director based upon Facility costs, numbers of participants and types of activities.

 

 

·         The indoor season is generally from November through March. It has less commitment with regards to time. In general there will be one to two possible training/games per week.

 

 

·         Indoor leagues and tournaments are optional based upon interest. Second Tier teams may combine to provide enough players for tournaments and leagues. The Director will make the final decisions on what will be done during the indoor season.

 

 

·         Indoor teams made up of OP players and wearing OP uniforms must be called OP and recognize they are to present themselves according to OP philosophy.

 

 

 

 

 

H.      Tryouts

 

 

·         Tryouts generally occur in May and June to form teams for the next carding year.

 

 

·         The OP staff will conduct tryouts with the assistance of the Parent coaches input.

 

 

·         Request for team placement are considered but not guaranteed.

 

 

·         Player notification will be determined at the time of the tryouts.

 

 

·         The OP staff will call each player and the decision to accept a spot on an OP team will be time sensitive due to other players waiting to hear if they made a team.

 

 

I.         Cooperation and Communication

 

 

·         All parent concerns will be heard. The initial concern if with Parent coach must first be discussed with the coach and the family.

 

 

·         If not satisfied with this meeting the parents of the player would then address the issue with the Director of the Second Tier Program. Director will decide on a course of action.

 

 

·         The Director will work with Club Administration to render a decision on the grievance.

 

 

·         The team Parent Administrator is responsible for team administration and is not to be consulted with for anything else.

 

 

J.       Fundraising

 

 

·         The Ohio Premier Soccer Club provides opportunities to offset the fees to play. The Club Administrator will discuss with each family the various methods to offset fees.

 

 

·         The Scrips program is one of the club fundraising programs.

 

 

·         Selling adds for the Ohio Premier Invitational is also a widely used alternative.

 

 

·         All other fundraising both individual and team must be approved by the Ohio Premier Administrative Staff.

 

 

K.      Club Apparel

 

 

·         All teams and individuals are required to wear NIKE uniforms and training shirts at OP functions as per our agreement with NIKE.

 

 

·         The Second Tier Program individual players will have the opportunity to purchase OP warm up suits, Backpacks, and spirit wear.

 

 

·         Soccer Plus in Westerville and Soccer Unlimited in Dublin are the two official suppliers to the Ohio Premier Soccer Club.

 

 

·         All other clothing and soccer gear must be pre approved by OP.
