THE OP SPOTLIGHT IS ON.......

ANGIE WEBER

Angie grew up in Bowling Green, OH and actively participated in track and cross country in high school. She attended Adrian College in Adrian, MI where she received a BS degree with a double major in Math and Computer Science and a minor in Psychology.    Angie met her husband Pete while at Adrian College. She worked at The Toledo Museum of Art as the Database Administrator in the Development Office, then moved to Columbus in 1990 and worked at Nationwide Insurance as a programmer/analyst.

After having her second daughter Paige in 1993, Angie decided to be a stay at home mom. She currently works in the Youth Department at First Community Church, and has since 2004. Two things she enjoys most about her job are: 1. Thanksgiving Street Project – which is where their volunteers take Thanksgiving day meals downtown to serve 300 homeless folks that live on the streets and in shelters. They also provide them with blankets, coats, gloves and hats. Angie remarks how ‘great it is to be able to help them out and that they are so thankful!’ 2. Mexico Mission Trip – Angie has gone twice to Tijuana, Mexico to build houses for those who don’t have adequate housing. The church takes a group of around 150 folks, most of them high school kids. She states that it is amazing to provide a house in a week to these families and that they typically will build 11-15 houses while there. “It is truly a life changing experience!”

Angie is a proud mother of 3 girls, Andrea - 18, Paige - 15 and Ellie - 9.   She has also been involved in the schools in campaigns since 1999, was the co-chair of 2 of them in 2002 and 2003, and continues to be involved as the database chair of the school campaigns. She is also involved in the Hilliard Education Foundation and has been for 7 years, was president for 2 years and treasurer for 1 year. In addition, Angie was active in the Darby Athletic Boosters for the girls’ soccer program.   She has been involved in various PTO positions since 1995 and has also served as the chair of various councils at First Community Church.

Angie is currently on the Board of OP, and is in her first year as the Publicity Chair. She has been an avid OP supporter by being in charge of scores for the OPI for 4 years, participating on the Fields Committee as well as serving as team administrator for Ellie’s team for 2 years for OP. Paige and Ellie play for OP and Andrea played for Darby and Hilliard FC.

“It is great to be able to give back to the schools and to OP who have had the biggest impact on my kid’s lives!   It has also been great meeting all the wonderful parents and kids in OP, who we spend most of our time with!”
